Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings – 100 Days, 100 Nights
This retro-soul group kicks. Their most recent album is very good – check out “100 Days, 100 Nights”.

Flyleaf
I really like some of their music, but the harder screaming stuff isn’t my bag. “Fully Alive” is one of my faves.

Goodwin
I used to play with (sometimes), record (lots), and help promote (frequently) these guys when they were Uncle Pete’s Parade (with a different singer and drummer), Bindle (with the current singer but a different drummer), and…well, I can’t even remember all the name changes. Nevertheless, Matt, Tony and Daniel rawk out and have a groove that you just have to hear to appreciate. Don’t miss Goodwin, or you’ll be sorry. These guys are always in my ipod.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Don’t You Fake It is a pretty solid album, led by “Your Guardian Angel” and “Face Down,” though the former gets the most listens from me on a regular basis. www.redjumpsuit.com

Around The Block
Someday I will finish this. Recorded in 2003. Just another demo.

Highway 84
The original songwriter’s demo of this song, which eventually made it onto J. Gilligan’s compilation in 1996, although in a more polished format. The song is missing the guitar solo in the middle. Almost everything here was sampled, other than the organ and vocals. We eventually recorded the whole thing live.

Drum Solo
This was recorded at a live outdoor concert in 1986 or 87, when I was around 17. I switched from drums to keyboards in college, though I have recorded some tracks where I play drums since.

Cigarette Away
Written in ‘93 or ‘94, before I started my music studio. A simple piano ballad. There’s a story here, ’cause I never smoke. This is a live demo I recorded in 1996.
